Meet Emily

Hello and thanks for stopping by. I've created this post so you can get to know me. I want whomever chooses us to parent their child to have a good understanding of who I am.

My first name is Emily but most of the people in my life call me Emmy. I was born in Minnesota to my parents, Mark and Patty. I have a sister, Molly-Jo, who is 2 years younger than me. At age 6 we moved to a suburb of the Twin Cities and my parents still live there. I am very bonded with my immediate family and consider them to be my best friends. We see each other often and make an effort to talk on the phone several times a week. They are just as excited for us to adopt as we are!

My Wild and Crazy Family, then and now!

I had a wonderful childhood, full of amazing adventures and wonderful experiences. We spent many summer days camping in the Boundary Waters with extended family. I rode horses and enjoyed playing softball. I was a bit of a free spirit and one could often find me barefoot, playing in the muddy backyard ditch. I was tough and strong and stubborn. I got into trouble often.

I was lucky to grow up with lots of extended family. My dad has 6 brothers and sisters and in-turn I have many cousins. I also spent a great deal of time with my paternal grandparents, Nana and Papa, and my grandfather still lives very close by. They are a wonderful support system.

Before I met Marcus, I started going to school in Willmar to become a veterinary technician. Then I met Marcus and I ended up quitting school and moving back to the cities in order to be with him. It proved to be a good decision because not only did I marry the man of my dreams but I wouldn't have been happy as a vet tech. I am meant to be a nanny. I am currently nannying for a family in Edina for 42 hours a week. Most of my day is spent with their 9 month old little girl, but I also care for her 9 & 11 year old sisters before and after school. They are an amazing family and I am blessed to call them my friends. Before this family, I nannyed for two other families until they grew too old for a nanny. I remain friends with them to this day.

I'm a big animal activist. I do my best to educate others on animal rescue and activism. We currently have 6 rescued pets: 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a rabbit. I personally don't use products or food containing animal ingredients. I am also a big human rights activist and do my best to support the many causes that advocate for equal treatment of all people, regardless of sex, orientation, or race. I look forward to teaching my future children these values.
I've been an animal advocate and political activist from a young age. Caption on my 1st grade drawing says:
"I did not like that you spilled oil into the Persian Gulf."

I have several hobbies that I enjoy pursuing. I love crocheting and sewing, although I don't consider myself very talented. That being said, it is still fun. I also enjoy various other crafts including home decor, gift making, and baking. I love music and movies and I especially enjoy reading. Marcus and I have a 26' camper trailer and we love going camping during the summer. We even bring all 6 animals. I adore swimming and have been a water person since birth. And I really enjoy horse riding although it has been years since I have had the opportunity to go riding. I also love tattoos. I just plain can't help it. I think they are beautiful. I hope to add to my tattoos all throughout my life

Getting my latest tatt.

My life is so wonderful. I am incredibly blessed. The only thing that could make it better is to finally become a mother. After that, my life will be complete.
